Thessalonica was a bustling seaport city at the head of the Thermaic Gulf. The Thessalonian church was founded during Paul’s second missionary journey. These letters are Paul writing to encourage the new converts in their trials and to give assurance concerning the future of believers. This week we will take a closer look at the city and the church of Thessalonica and get a sense of what drew Paul to this city.
