In the King James Version of the Bible “thou shalt not” appears 219 times in both the old and New Testaments. The Bible is filled with over 400 references to singing and more than 50 direct commands to sing; many that command us to not only sing but to do so with joy and gladness. Which leads me to believe that worshiping and singing is extremely important to God.
What God’s word says about singing:
“What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.” 1st Corinthians 14:15
That verse kind of shoots down the “I don’t have a good voice so I’m not singing” mentality. It also reveals that it’s not just about your voice. It’s where your heart, mind, and spirit are while you are engaging in worship.
“Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.” 1st Chronicles 16:9
I invite you all to take joy in worshiping with the team on Sunday mornings.
“I will sing to The Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.”
