Excerpt from Experiencing God, by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V King:
The heart of eternal life…is for you to know God and to know Jesus Christ whom He has sent…Knowing God comes through a relationship with a Person. This is an intimate love relationship with God. Through this relationship, God reveals Himself, His purposes, and His ways; and He invites you to join Him where He is already at work. When you obey, God accomplishes through you something only He can do. Then you come to know God in a more intimate way by experiencing God at work through you.
Recently, Doug and I had the privilege of getting to know a new worshiper who came to volunteer his services for cleaning and maintenance of our facility. When it was announced that volunteers were needed for facility cleaning, he felt God’s “invitation” to get involved. What a blessing it is to see those who are in relationship with Him listening and watching for God’s invitation to join Him at work!
Consider the impact of this ministry:
A well cared for facility, ready and waiting for worshipers and newcomers, eliminates distractions from the Good News. “Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.” 1 Corinthians 14:26 “…everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” 1 Corinthians 14:40
Working together with fellow worshipers is a great opportunity to get-to-know and to encourage one another. “…consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, … encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24, 25 “…encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
This facility is a miraculous blessing to our community. With great blessing comes great responsibility. This facility will continue to serve the Lord well for many years to come with the simple effort of caring for it as if it were our own home. “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48
We have a small group of enthusiastic worshipers who have volunteered their time in weeks past to clean our facility. We would love to have more volunteers to join in the cleaning schedule so that our current volunteers do not get “burned out.” Is God inviting you to join us?
